Cadogan St, Sloane Square

Situated near Sloane square, the owners of this property approached Lux Construction to come up with a solution to expand and modernise the living space. They were fully aware of the limitations that this listed building had, and were open to suggestions from us as to what could be done.

With no loft space as such, this was of course a challenge for us; however we pride ourselves on refurbishment, without affecting the original charm of a property. We try to keep buildings intact and maximise use of the existing space wherever possible, and with this project in particular are very pleased with the results.

To meet the clients’ demands we split the design into two very distinct parts; the spaces that will be seen whilst entertaining have a classic and conservative design, whereas the rest of the house have a more practical and functional approach. This is just another example of what Lux Construction can do, given the freedom to design and create within a property. All of our ideas are based on the client and what the client requires.

The kitchen that was installed for practicality, whilst giving a feel of luxury, boasts a large central breakfast bar that comfortably seats five. This is all finished in dark wood with a light tile, again giving contrast but giving an extremely modern and stylish look at the same time.

Raising the ceiling in the dining room makes the open plan space seem even bigger than it actually is. With the beams exposed and the hand blown, glass light fittings echoed in the nearby stairwell, the two rooms blend into one and give the impression of spaciousness throughout. Whilst in the stairwell a real talking point is the two storey marble wall, that immediately strikes visitors on entering.
